The rule of law is a cornerstone of modern democratic societies, serving as the bedrock of justice, equality, and stability. It encompasses the principle that everyone, regardless of their status or position, is subject to the law and accountable for their actions. It is quite obvious to comment that if you need a peaceful nation then rule of law has to be uplifted.
At the heart of the rule of law lies the principle of equality before the law. It guarantees that all individuals, irrespective of their social standing, wealth, or influence, are treated equally and have equal access to justice. This principle ensures that no one is above the law.
It is quite evident that in order to ensure rule of law, an independent and impartial judiciary is vital. Judges, free from external influences and biases, should interpret and apply the law in a fair and unbiased manner. The judiciary acts as a check on the exercise of governmental power, safeguarding the rule of law against potential abuse.
The rule of law guarantees that basic human rights are protected and that individuals can seek redress when their rights are violated. It serves as a safeguard against arbitrary government actions and ensures that the state acts in accordance with human rights standards. Every citizen has a right of basic human needs and protection. Rule of law not only ensures that right but also acts as a safeguard.
The rule of law is a fundamental principle that upholds the values of justice, equality, and human rights in a society. It provides the framework for a fair and orderly society, where laws are applied consistently and impartially. By ensuring equality before the law, an independent judiciary, legal certainty, protection of human rights, and accountability, the rule of law fosters trust in the legal system and contributes to the overall well-being of a nation. The rule of law represents a challenge to state authority and power, demanding that powers be granted legitimately and their exercise is according to the law.
Many third world countries lack the very essence of rule of law hence injustice within that very state is meant to happen. The only way to ensure a happy liveable nation is when the rule of law is applied within. The three main bodies i.e. the legislative, executive and judiciary should ensure rule of law within the state and if any one of them breaks the thin thread of rule of law; chaos will be that state’s destiny.
