A 40-year-old woman was fatally wounded overnight as she exited a private bus on the South Side in the Fuller Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 12:40 a.m., the woman was exiting a private bus in the 5400 block of South Shields Avenue when someone pulled out a gun from within the bus and opened fire toward the victim. She was hit to the right thigh, and taken to UChicago Medicine where she was pronounced dead.
No one was taken into custody for the fatal shooting and detectives were investigating.
