India on Monday strongly rejected remarks made by Pakistan’s Foreign Office on incidents of alleged attacks against minorities in the country. Responding to media queries, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India dismisses comments coming from a country with what he described as an “abysmal record” on the issue.

He said Pakistan’s “horrific and systemic victimisation” of religious minorities is a well-established fact and cannot be obscured by finger-pointing. Jaiswal added that such remarks lack credibility given Pakistan’s own record.
