Nandamuri Balakrishna Consoles An Emotional ShivaRajkumar Who Saw Late Brother Puneeth Rajkumar

New Delhi: Actor ShivaRajkumar could not hold back his tears at the pre-release event of the Telugu dubbed version of his film ‘Shivan Vedha’. The actor broke down when a special video of his late brother Puneeth Rajkumar was played. Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, who was the chief guest at the event, consoled an emotional ShivaRajkumar.

A video of ShivaRajkumar and Balakrishna has been doing the rounds on social media. In the clip, we see ShivaRajkumar wipe his tears as the host talks about Puneeth Rajkumar. Balakirshna, who is seated next to ShivaRajkumar, is seen consoling him by keeping his hand on his ahoulder and bringing him closer.’

Puneeth Rajkumar died of a caridac arrest in October 2021 at the age of 46. He was rushed to a private hospital when he complained of chest pain while working out at the gym. He was then rushed to Vikram hospital where he breathed his last in the ICU.

One of the biggest superstars of Kannada cinema, Puneeth was the son of superstar Rajkumar. He started his career as a child artist with the film ‘Bettadu Hoovi’ and even won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist. Puneeth made his debut as a lead hero in 2002 with the Kannada film ‘Appu.  Puneeth was last seen in  ‘Yuvarathnaa’, which released early this year and became a blockbuster.

Puneeth has worked in films like ‘Abhi’, ‘Veera Kannadiga’, ‘Arasu’, ‘Raam’, ‘Hudugaru’ and ‘Anjani Putra’, among others.

Meanwhile, ShivaRajkumar’s film ‘Shivan Vedha’ released in cinemas last December. The Kannada film is a period-action film set in a village. The film also marked ShivaRajkumar’s fourth collaboration with the filmmaker after ‘Vajrakaya’, ‘Bhajarangi’ and ‘Bhajarangi 2’.The Telugu dubbed version Shiva Vedha is scheduled to be released on February 9, 2023.
