A seven-bedroom, 11,000-square-foot mansion in Lincoln Park came on the market Thursday for $12.5 million.
Built in 2001 and spread across three city lots, the limestone mansion is owned by Jennifer Dicke Prewitt, who is the daughter of James F. Dicke II, and her husband, Andrew Prewitt. James F. Dicke II is chairman and CEO of Ohio-based Crown Equipment Corp. The Prewitts paid $5.3 million for the mansion in 2012.
The three-story house has six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms and a three-story staircase atrium with large picture windows. It also has a kitchen with two islands, three full-sized refrigerators, six freezer drawers, a walk-in pantry, a butler’s pantry and wine and beverage refrigerators.
Other features in the mansion include an office, a mud room, a top-floor office and a lower level with a great room, a mirrored exercise space, a second laundry room, a wine room and radiant heat. The mansion received all-new windows and French doors in fall 2022.
Outside is an attached three-car heated garage with a rooftop deck, a detached two-car garage, a fire pit, a trellis, a kitchen, patio and a sport court.
Listing agent Suzanne Gignilliat, who represented the Prewitts in buying the mansion in 2012, is the listing agent. She could not be immediately reached for comment. Andrew Prewitt also did not respond to a request for comment.
The mansion had an $89,827 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year. The mansion is the third highest-priced single-family house within Chicago’s city limits currently on the market. Among single-family homes, the only higher listing prices are for a six-bedroom, 25,000-square-foot mansion in Lincoln Park, which is on the market for almost $30 million, and a 20,000-square-foot Gold Coast mansion that has an $18.75 million price tag. Five condominium units also have asking prices that are greater than the $12.5 million that the Prewitts are seeking.
