A four-bedroom, 5,523-square-foot house in unincorporated Warrenville has been listed for $1.69 million, making it the highest-priced home on the market in that western suburb.
Built in 2006 and situated on a 0.91-acre lot that is just across the street from the St. James Farm Forest Preserve, the house has 5½ bathrooms, three fireplaces, a pre-built elevator shaft, a first-floor office, high ceilings, and walls of windows and radiant heating in the basement and garage floors. Other features include a curved front staircase, wainscoting, chair rail, tray ceilings, coffered ceilings, and a gym and a large wet bar and kitchen area in the basement.
Although the house is less than two decades old, its kitchen was just updated in 2022 by Naperville-based Liam Brex, Inc.
“The kitchen is the heart of the home. Not only is it updated, but it’s what people want — quartzite countertops, brushed gold hardware, a really nice walk-in pantry that is camouflaged with paneling, a Sub-Zero refrigerator with a paneled front door, a Sub-Zero freezer and an oversized kitchen island with a butcher block,” listing agent Michael LaFido of eXp Realty told Elite Street. “It has the kitchen of a home that you’d see in a $3 million house.”
Listing information stated that the house was appraised in February at $1.94 million.
The house had an $18,896 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year.
The second-highest-priced listing in Warrenville is a six-bedroom, 4,533-square-foot home currently listed for $1.25 million.
