Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore sells Charlotte home for $1.4M

Chicago Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore in late May sold his five-bedroom, 4,498-square-foot house in Charlotte, N.C., for $1.37 million.

A much-touted offseason pickup, Moore, 26, started his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers before he was traded to the Bears in March.

Just after starting his NFL career in 2018, Moore paid $900,000 through a trust whose beneficiary is his mother, Donna Ridley, for the modern farmhouse-style home in Charlotte, whose front porch is topped by a chalet-style roof.

Built in 2017 and located on a 2.67-acre property in the Sanctuary neighborhood of Charlotte, the house has 5-1/2 bathrooms, a great room with a fireplace, a primary bedroom suite on the main floor, a large office and a kitchen with two dishwashers.

Other features include a porch with a fireplace and a backyard with a built-in gas grill.

Moore listed the house in early May for $1.25 million and went under contract to sell it just four days later, with the deal closing in late May for 10 percent above Moore’s asking price.

Listing agent Melissa Berens declined to comment on the sale.

The house had a $8,048 property tax bill in the 2022 tax year.

Moore isn’t the only celebrity to have owned a home in the Sanctuary. Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford owned a five-bedroom, 8,085-square-foot house just a few blocks north of Moore’s former house from 2006 until selling it in 2020 for $1.499 million.
