Martin Sorge, once a regular at the now-closed Swedish Bakery in Andersonville neighborhood, has been trying to re-create bakery’s famous Andersonville Coffee Cake since the business closed its doors in 2017. With yeasted dough and warm spices in its fillings, Sorge defines it to be more like a “sweet bread than a cake.” His homemade version of the coffee cake does not look like the original but tastes as good.
