A 23-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district was arrested for allegedly killing his father after he objected to his same-sex relationship.

Police said that the victim, Ajit, had a same-sex relationship with Krishna Verma, who is the co-accused of this murder. He used to have regular fights with his father over his relationship.

He admitted that when his father slapped Krishna, he could not tolerate raising his father’s hand on his partner which made him kill. After killing his father with a spade, they hid the body under the bed and used incense sticks to mask the smell coming from the dead body.

“The victim’s unmarried son, Ajit, had a same-sex relationship with Krishna Verma (20), a co-accused. The duo, along with their two friends Lokesh (21) and Deepak (22), planned and executed the crime,” SP (rural) Trigun Bisen said.

“The trio was part of a dance group and was introduced to Ajit through Krishna. During interrogation, it was revealed that Krishna considered Ajit his husband and was unwilling to leave him,” he also said, as reported by TOI.

From the reports, it has been revealed that the son planned to kill his 55-year-old father along with three other friends, including his partner. After killing, they hid the body under a bed before placing it in a box and setting it on fire on the night of May 3.

His father’s remains were discovered partly burnt within a metal container near Ayra village, falling within the jurisdiction of Raya police station on May 4th, approximately 5 kilometers away from their residence.

“Ajit used to have regular fights with his father over his relationship. On May 1, Mohanlal slapped Krishna and Ajit, which led to the fatal retaliation on the night of May 2. They hid the body under a bed before placing it in a box and setting it on fire on the night of May 3. The four were sent to jail on Monday,” the SP also said.

The only child of Mohanlal, Ajit, was employed at a clothes store and had finished his intermediate schooling. Two decades prior, Vimlesh, his mother, had passed away. Five years prior, Ajit had become friends with Krishna, and the two became attracted to one another.

Raya SHO Ashok Kumar said, “During interrogation, Ajit admitted that he could not tolerate his father raising his hand on Krishna. After killing his father with a spade, they hid the body under the bed and used incense sticks to mask the smell emanating from the corpse. As neighbours grew suspicious and inquired about Mohanlal’s whereabouts, Ajit lied, saying his father had gone to Lucknow for work.”

Police stated that the suspects were recognised through CCTV camera recordings. Two were apprehended after a run-in with the police, while the other two were later taken into custody.
