Lok Sabha Elections Results 2024: One hour into counting, the battle for the throne has intensified between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the I.N.D.I.A bloc and other regional parties. The critical question remains: can the Opposition’s strength thwart Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s bid for a historic third consecutive term?

As Prime Minister Modi set an ambitious target for the BJP-led NDA to win over 400 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, early trends are beginning to paint a picture. After an initial seesaw between NDA and I.N.D.I.A bloc, the BJP-led alliance has crossed the majority mark, as per early trends.

Early Trends Of Lok Sabha Elections

At 9 AM, early trends reveal that the NDA is leading in 255 seats, while I.N.D.I.A is ahead in 163 seats. The other parties lead in 11 seats as counting underway in 429 out of 543 seats.

Early trends also indicate BJP’s Smriti Irani leading in the once Congress’ stronghold of Amethi, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is ahead in Wayanad. BJP is also leading in all Delhi seats.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in the lead in Varanasi against Congress’ Ajay Rai. However, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is trailing in Rae Bareli against BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh.

Although the Lok Sabha comprises 543 members, counting is being conducted for 542 seats after the BJP’s Surat candidate Mukesh Dalal was elected unopposed.

According to the Conduct of Election Rules, the counting of postal ballots will take place initially, followed by the counting of votes recorded in electronic voting machines (EVMs) 30 minutes later. The process of counting votes cast through postal ballots and EVMs will continue simultaneously.

Lok Sabha Elections Results

The counting for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections began at 8 AM on Tuesday (June 4) under tight security. These results are crucial, not only for the NDA to achieve a record third term but also for the survival of several other parties. The nation watches with bated breath as the future of Indian politics hangs in the balance.

On the other hand, early Lok Sabha elections results indicate that there a close contest is underway in several key constituencies, reflecting the intense political drama playing out across the nation.

Unlike the previous election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP asserted that their party will significantly gain South India aiding the NDA to secure over 400 seats nationwide. However, ABP News-CVoter exit polls predicted a different outcome with the I.N.D.I.A bloc expected to win 68-70 seats compared to NDA’s 57-59 in the region.
