A woman died Saturday after she was apparently stabbed several times in a home on Naperville’s southwest side, police said in a news release.

After a preliminary investigation, police arrested a man in connection with the case but the news release provided no other details about the arrest.

Police also did not identify either the name of the woman or the man who was arrested.

Naperville police said in the release that officers responded to a call at around 9:37 a.m. Saturday for a person not breathing inside a home.

When officers arrived to the home in the 2500 block of Saddlebrook Drive, which is near the White Eagle Golf Club, they found several people, including the woman with what appeared to be stab wounds. The Naperville Fire Department transported her to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead, authorities said in the release.

Officers and investigators who arrived at the scene placed an adult male under arrest, police said, adding that the name and age of the woman were being withheld pending further investigation into the matter and that they continued to investigate the case.

The exact cause of death was under investigation by the DuPage County Coroner’s Office, police said.
