X owner Elon Musk has donated a sizable amount of money to a low-profile group called America PAC that works to elect Donald Trump to the White House in the upcoming US Presidential elections. As per several reports, the people who are close to the matter have said that the donated amount is unclear but it is a significant one. The organisation will be disclosing the list of its donors coming July 15. Musk has probably done this act to make his imprint on the political landscape of the US.
This move of Musk is quite interesting because earlier he had said that he wished to stay out of politics. However, even prior to this, it has been observed that Musk’s views lean towards the right and he has often been seen assailing the Democrats. Musk has not yet publicly endorsed a candidate for the 2024 election and stated earlier this year that he did not plan to financially support either Trump or Biden’s campaigns. However, his decision to start contributing could make him a significant financial force for the Republicans.
