New Delhi: A new song named ‘Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam’ was launched on Sunday (July 14) for the upcoming romance comedy film ‘Bad Newz’, which stars Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk. The song, which involves all three main protagonists, is a cover of a Shah Rukh Khan song from the 1998 film ‘Duplicate’. The song received a lot of negative feedback soon after it was out. Fans say the producers ruined the iconic song with an “unnecessary” remix, and they aren’t happy about it.

The love song ‘Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam’ features Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk in the music video. The song is reworked by Lijo George and DJ Chetas while the original was sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan.

Reactions from Netizens

One fan wrote, “Ruined a classic srk song. I’m surprised kjo allowed this … atleast the other songs from the movie are originals and not bad at all! but why touch a beautiful memorable melody.” Another one said, “Can’t imagine this song without SRK Juhi Sonali grooving in it, sorry. Too struck in the 90s.”

A frustated user wrote, “Don’t spoil old songs. Create your own new songs”

As expected, they ruined #MereMehboobMereSanam 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

To the people who have not heard or watched the original, please do so! It has the charm that the remake is no where close to!

More about ‘Bad Newz’

The trailer of ‘Bad Newz’ captivated the viewers with the film’s unusual plot, which saw Triptii Dimri’s character learning she was having twins from two separate dads (Kaushal and Virk). Helmed by Anand Tiwari, ‘Bad Newz’ will hit the theatres on July 19.

Two songs from the forthcoming film, ‘Tauba Tauba’ and ‘Jaanam’, have been loved by the audience so far. Thanks in large part to Vicky Kaushal‘s amazing steps, ‘Tauba Tauba’ has become an enormous hit, reaching the top of the charts.
