New Delhi: The Hyderabad police have arrested actor Rakul Preet Singh’s brother, Aman Preet Singh, in connection with a drugs case. The arrest followed a joint operation by the Narcotics Bureau and Rajendra Nagar SOT Police under Cyberabad Police’s jurisdiction.

During a press conference in Hyderabad on Monday, the police provided details of the case. They confirmed Aman’s arrest in connection with a recent drug bust. Five people were arrested for drug peddling, and Aman’s name appeared on a list of 13 individuals who consumed the drugs and tested positive for them. The police stated that Aman would soon be produced in court.

“I will only comment on whom Aman is connected to once we investigate the case further. We need to check when his association with the accused began. The accused include some Indians and Nigerians, with some being repeat offenders. We believe the association might be about a year and a half old. Aman tested positive for using cocaine in the urine test. It is confirmed that he’s an actor, although he did not specify if he’s in Tollywood or elsewhere,” said the police at the press meet.

Rakul Preet Singh summoned by ED

Rakul Preet Singh was previously summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case connected to a drugs investigation. When asked about it, the police said, “She has nothing to do with this case. We are not investigating her, and her name needn’t be dragged in unnecessarily, so we will not be commenting on it.”

Further details of the case reveal that the police seized 199 grams of cocaine, 2 passports, 2 bikes, and 10 cell phones. The arrested individuals include Onuoha Blessing, Azeez Nohaam Adeshola, Alla Satya Venkata Gowtham, Sanaboina Varun Kumar, and Mohd Mahaboob Shareef, while Divine Ebuka Suzee and Ezeonyili Franklin Uchenna are absconding.

In a press note, the police also highlighted the consumers, stating, “As of now, 13 consumers from Hyderabad have been identified who are wealthy and blatantly promoting a sick ecosystem of drugs in Telangana. They are creating a network of supply and demand for drugs in Hyderabad. Out of the 13 consumers, 5 have been apprehended, and all 5 tested positive for cocaine in their urine samples.”
