Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Sunday that the state government plans to recruit 100,000 young people into the police force over the next two years, news agency PTI reported. Speaking at a Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha meeting and membership workshop, Adityanath praised the government’s efforts, stating, “Today, there is no discrimination against the youth in the state. Recruitment to government jobs is being conducted in a fair and transparent manner.” He added, “In the next two years, we will recruit one lakh youth into the UP Police.”

Adityanath also highlighted achievements from his tenure, claiming, “In the last seven and a half years, we have provided jobs to over six and a half lakh youth.” He further mentioned the recent completion of a major police recruitment exam, which will allow more than 60,200 young people to join the force.

In his political remarks, Adityanath urged participants to engage in politics with principles and values, saying, “Politics should be about promoting state and national interests, not about personal gain. Remember, politics without principles is a death trap. We must resist temptation and never compromise on our values.”

He also criticised the opposition, stating, “It is peculiar that figures who were mocked for their values are now being revered for votes. These are the same people who support those who spread hatred against the country.” He added, “This is the Congress party that ruled for the longest time and also opposed Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.”

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s working committee meeting and membership workshop began with traditional Swasti Vachan. Many notable leaders attended the event, according to a district administration official.

Upon arriving in Varanasi, Adityanath visited Baba Kaal Bhairav and Shri Kashi Vishwanath temples, where he was greeted by devotees with the chant “Har Har Mahadev.”
