India Women Vs Sri Lanka Women: India Women and Sri Lanka Women hang by a cliff in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, as a loss for either of the sides will all but end their campaign.

While India Women have registered a win in the tournament, Sri Lanka Women are yet to win and the fixture will mark as a revenge match for Harmanpreet Kaur’s side, who were dethroned as Asian champions by Chamari Aththapattu’s side this year.

Playing XI’s of India Women, Sri Lanka Women

Sri Lanka Women Playing XI: Vishmi Gunaratne, Chamari Athapaththu (c), Harshitha Madavi Samarawickrama, Kavisha Dilhari, Nilakshi de Silva, Anushka Sanjeewani (wk), Ama Kanchana, Sugandika Kumari, Inoshi Priyadharshani Fernando, Inoka Ranaweera, Udeshika Prabodhani.

India Women Playing XI: Smriti Mandhana (vc), Shafali Verma, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (wk), Deepti Sharma, Sajeevan Sajana, Arundhati Reddy, Shreyanka Patil, Asha Shobana, Renuka Singh Thakur.

Here’s What Both Captains Said During Toss

Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain):

“We will bat first. So far we haven’t batted first and will look to post a decent total on the board. Wherever we go, they always come to support us, and I think it’s a privilege. We are really happy to have their support, no matter where we are playing. I’m feeling better, and I think if we play better cricket today, I’ll feel even better. In the Asia Cup, we played some good cricket, but on one particular day, they outperformed us. We’re sticking with the same eleven that played in that match.”

Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Women Captain):

“Actually I feel the condition is slow and low but we stick with our plans and hope we play our best cricket today. Yeah definitely, have to be fearless in the middle overs. During powerplay, we can go for the big shots but after that have to rotate the strike. We have one change. Hasini Perera misses out. Ama Kanchana comes in.”
