A two-seater BMW Z4 car worth around Rs 80 lakh of a Bandra-based businessman was allegedly stolen from the parking lot of Bastian, a fine-dining restaurant owned by actor Shilpa Shetty in Mumbai on Saturday, according to India Express.

The police stated that Ruhan Khan, 34, claimed his car was parked in the basement, with the keys handed over to restaurant staff. Shortly after, two unidentified individuals reportedly entered the basement and drove off with his vehicle. Police indicated that the incident took place in the early hours of October 27.

“Khan and his friend visited the restaurant at around 1 am on Saturday. He parked the vehicle and handed over the keys to the employees working as valets at the entrance,” explained an officer, adding that Khan requested his car from the valet when the restaurant closed around 4 am.

“But as the valet did not bring my car for a long time, I went to enquire about it. I was informed that they were unable to find my car at the spot where it was parked,” the complainant’s statement read.

Upon reviewing the parking area’s CCTV footage, Khan discovered that two unknown individuals had arrived in another vehicle and left with his BMW. The police stated that they began working to identify and catch the suspects.

Indian-Origin Man Arrested After Trying To Drive Over Cop Cars In Stolen SUV In Canada

In a separate incident, a 25-year-old Indian-origin man has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses after reportedly attempting to run over police cruisers in a stolen vehicle in the Ontario area of Canada.

The incident occurred on September 3, at a Tim Hortons drive-thru near Westwood Mall in Mississauga, as officers were trying to arrest the accused while he was allegedly driving a stolen SUV. The video of the incident was widely shared on social media, in which the red Ford Bronco can be seen striking several police vehicles as the driver is trying to flee from the cops.

Peel Regional Police stated that the suspect was identified as Ramanpreet Singh of Brampton, CBC Canada reported. According to a report, police were first called to the area after receiving reports that a person in possession of weapons and driving a Ford Bronco had returned to that location after stealing from a nearby store a few weeks ago.
