Hindus ‘Left Alone To Confront Injustice’: Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Call For Action’ After Canada Attack

Following the attack on a Hindu temple in Canada, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has expressed deep anguish over the rising violence against Hindu communities worldwide. In a message on X, Kalyan highlighted the attacks faced by Hindus, stating, “It pains me deeply to see our Hindu brothers and sisters enduring persecution, violence, and unimaginable suffering in places like Pakistan, Afghanistan, and recently, Bangladesh.”

He called for global solidarity with Hindus, urging immediate action to address the ongoing injustices. He remarked, “Today’s attack on a Hindu temple and on Hindus in Canada strikes at the heart, sparking both anguish and alarm. It is my fervent hope that the Canadian government takes immediate, decisive steps to ensure a safe and secure environment for the Hindu community there.”

“But this is more than an isolated incident. Across various countries, acts of violence and targeted hatred against Hindus persist, yet the silence from global leaders, international organizations, and the so-called “peace-loving” NGOs is deafening. Where are the voices of outrage? Where is the solidarity for Hindus? Why are we left alone to confront this injustice?” he remarked.

“This is not merely a plea for compassion but a call for action. A call for the world to acknowledge and address the suffering of Hindus with the same urgency and commitment it offers others. Humanity cannot afford selective compassion—let us stand united, with unwavering resolve, against the persecution of any community, anywhere,” the Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister added.

The incident, which took place on Sunday at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Ontario, involved protesters carrying Khalistani flags clashing with people at the temple and disrupting a consular event co-organised by the temple and the Indian Consulate. Videos circulated on social media reportedly showed demonstrators supporting Khalistan and engaged in violent scuffles, with footage showing individuals using poles in fist fights on the temple grounds, as per a report by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

PM Modi Condemns ‘Deliberate Attack’ On Hindu Temple In Canada

The attack drew sharp criticism from leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who condemned the violence. “I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats,” Modi posted on X. He added, “Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law.”

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi issued a statement strongly denouncing the violence at the Hindu Sabha temple. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasised India’s expectations from Canada, stating, “We condemn the acts of violence perpetrated by extremists and separatists at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Ontario, yesterday. We call on the government of Canada to ensure that all places of worship are protected from such attacks.” Jaiswal further underscored the need for prosecuting those responsible, adding, “We remain deeply concerned about the safety and security of Indian nationals in Canada. The outreach of our consular officers to provide services to Indians and Canadian citizens alike will not be deterred by intimidation, harassment and violence.”

This act of violence comes at a time of strained India-Canada relations, with ongoing tensions over alleged support for Khalistani separatists in Canada and the North American nation’s allegations against India in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian citizen and designated terrorist by India.
