Two women were critically injured in an East Garfield Park shooting while in a car early Tuesday morning, according to Chicago police.

A 22-year-old woman and 23-year-old woman were traveling in a vehicle in the 2800 block of West Fulton Street when an unknown gunman exited a dark-colored vehicle and started shooting at them around 12:42 p.m., police said.

The women fled the scene and went to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were both listed in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

No suspects are in custody, and police said detectives are investigating the shooting.
