Former WFLD-Channel 32 chief meteorologist Bill Bellis and his wife, Julie, sold their three-bedroom, 3,000-square-foot duplex condominium in Lakeview for $895,000.
Bellis was at Fox 32 from 2011 until February 2021, when he exited the station. He now is the chief meteorologist at a TV station in Las Vegas.
In 2015, Bellis and his wife paid $725,000 for the condo, which is less than two blocks north of Wrigley Field. The condo’s first level has a primary bedroom suite, a living room, a dining room, a wood-burning fireplace and a kitchen with a pantry, an oversized island and stainless steel appliances. The second level, which is the top floor in the building, has a second primary bedroom suite, a large family room with another fireplace, a wet bar and a terrace.
The unit also has a private rooftop deck with 360-degree views of the city.
Bill and Julie Bellis first listed the condo on March 30 for $900,000. They sold it on June 1.
Listing agent Marilyn Knaus of @properties told Elite Street that the house’s sale price in the multiple listing service is $910,000, but owing to some credits relating to a problem with the roof, the recorded sale price was $895,000.
“We found a big Cubs fan who was a season ticketholder who gave us an aggressive offer,” Knaus said, referring to the buyer.
The condo had a $15,050 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year.
