Actress and reality TV star Shefali Jariwala has reportedly passed away at the age of 42. Widely recognised for her appearance on ‘Bigg Boss 13’ and her breakout performance in the iconic pop remix ‘Kaanta Laga’, the news of her untimely demise has left fans and the entertainment fraternity in disbelief.

Shefali Jariwala suffered cardiac arrest

According to Times Of India, Shefali suffered a cardiac arrest late on the night of June 27. Her husband, accompanied by three others, rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital. However, despite their efforts, it was too late.

Journalist Vickey Lalwani reported that Shefali was brought to the hospital around 11:25 pm on Friday night. A staff member from the hospital’s reception confirmed the heartbreaking development and told Lalwani, “Shefali had expired before she was brought in. Her husband and a few others accompanied the body.”

Shefali is survived by her husband and television actor Parag Tyagi.

About Shefali Jariwala

Shefali Jariwala became a pop culture sensation in 2002 with the chart-topping remix ‘Kaanta Laga’. Her bold appearance and dance moves in the music video catapulted her into overnight fame, earning her the nickname “The Kaanta Laga Girl.” Though she never pursued mainstream Bollywood extensively, her presence remained strong through reality shows and television appearances.

She made a brief cameo in ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (2004) and later featured in shows like ‘Nach Baliye’ and ‘Bigg Boss 13’.

Behind the spotlight, Shefali battled epilepsy for over 15 years, a struggle she opened up about in later interviews. Her recovery journey, aided by therapy and lifestyle changes, inspired many as she advocated for mental health awareness.

Shefali Jariwala was previously married to musician Harmeet Singh of the Meet Bros duo. The couple tied the knot in 2004 but parted ways in 2009 after five years of marriage.

She later married actor Parag Tyagi in 2014. The couple often spoke about their strong bond and plans to adopt a child.
