‘Forces Which Espouse Extremist Ideologies…’: PM Modi’s Veiled Message To Pakistan In London

<p data-pm-slice="0 0 []">Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a warning against those who misuse democratic freedoms to undermine democracy. In a post on X, he said that "there is no place for a double standard in the fight against terrorism." He said this while condemning the terror during his address in London after the India and UK free trade agreement.</p>

<p>While addressing the media, he also thanked the UK PM and his government for their strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&ldquo;We are united in the belief that there is no place for double standards in the fight against terrorism. We also agree that the forces which espouse extremist ideologies should not be allowed to misuse democratic freedoms. Those who misuse democratic freedoms to undermine democracy itself must be held to account,&rdquo;&nbsp; he said in London.</p>
<p>Speaking on the free trade deal with UK, the prime minister said, &ldquo;This Agreement is not just an economic agreement but also the plan for a shared prosperity. On one side, Indian textile, footwear, gems and jewellery, seafood and engineering goods will get better market access in the UK. New opportunities will emerge in the UK market for India’s agricultural produce and processed food industry.&rdquo;</p>
<p>He added that the bilateral deal between the countries will benefit the Indian youth, farmers, fishermen, and the MSME sector. Under the FTA with the UK, the exports of the generic medicines and medical devices, like X-ray systems and surgical instruments, will get a major boost.</p>
<h2>PM Modi On Air India Crash In Ahmedabad</h2>
<p>Mentioning the recent accident in Ahmedabad, he said that there were many UK nationals as well and expressed condolences to their families. He said that the people of Indian origin who live in the UK act as a living bridge in the relations between both the countries.</p>
