New Delhi: The sales guy from Dunder Mifflin Jim Halpert is one of the funniest character from ‘The Office’. John Krasinski, who portrayed Jim Halpert in the sitcom television series is known for his charming looks apart from his acting. So much so that his formal style is being copied by a lot of fans.

Fun fact! Do you know Krasinski wore a wig for a good amount of time in ‘The Office’ Season 3? His wig look almost got virtually unnoticed by a lot of viewers. However, this fact is known mostly by die-hard fans of ‘The Office’. Krasinski went through a number of different hairdos during the course of the series.

Krasinski was offered a role in George Clooney’s film ‘Leatherheads’ during the production of The Office’s third season, but the role required him to cut off his signature Halpert curls. Krasinski featured as football player Carter Rutherford with George Clooney and Renee Zellweger in the sports comedy.

Outside of true devotees of ‘The Office,’ a few people realise that Krasinski spent a good portion of Season 3 hiding his natural hair behind a wig. The Office’s hair and makeup artist Kim. M. Ferry said in an interview that Krasinski chopped his hair for a role in George Clooney’s ‘Leatherheads’.

The Office’s producer, Greg Daniels, denied Krasinski’s request to use a wig for the third season’s last six episodes. Since Krasinski was unable to play the character in ‘Leatherheads’ without cutting his hair, he took a huge risk by having Ferry get him a wig in secret and then wearing it without informing anybody.

Talking to Mashable, Kim Ferry revealed, “He paid for the wig — a human hair wig made by a friend of mine, Natascha Ladek, who’s the best wig maker in town. “She came in to do a secret little fitting for him, she made the wig, we got it, and it looked amazing. Krasinski came in a little later that day, and I had the wig hidden in a little secret spot ready for him. When it was just him and I, I put it on him, and then he went out and filmed.”

Nearly a decade after its first airing, The Office is still one of the most often revisited television series. Memes and mashups are what gives ‘The Office’ new life in the digital era.

The transformation from Natural Jim to Wigged Jim was truly astounding. Even though Krasinski wore a wig for part of the time, his distinctive hairstyle has helped him maintain his iconic status as Jim over the years.

John Krasinski aka Jim Halpert is celebrating his 43rd birthday today. We wish him a birthday full of happy moments!
