16-year-old boy fatally shot Friday night in Little Village

A sixteen-year-old boy was fatally shot Friday night in Little Village, Chicago police said.

Police responded to the 2400 block of South Trumbull Avenue at approximately 11:20 p.m. Friday and found the teen lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his lower back. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

A witness told officers that they saw multiple men fleeing the scene after the shooting occurred, according to police. No one has been taken into custody..

Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting.
