19-year-old killed, four others injured in Austin shooting, police say

A 19-year-old was killed and four others were injured after a shooting in a business in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said.

A group was inside the business on the 5300 block of West Madison Street when an unknown person fired shots toward them and fled at around 1:02 a.m.

The 19-year-old woman was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. A girl, 17, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

A 20-year-old woman, 19-year-old woman and 16-year-old girl were also struck by gunfire and taken to local hospitals in good condition, police said.

No arrests have been made.
