Four people were shot in two separate incidents in the Chatham neighborhood early Sunday morning.

The shootings happened within approximately one hour of each other and were a block apart, though police have not said if they’re related.

The first shooting happened in West Chatham Park, on the 8200 block of South Princeton Avenue, around 1:30 a.m.

Three people were injured and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition: a 45-year-old man shot in the back, a 34-year-old man shot in the left leg and a 40-year-old woman shot in the right leg.

Then, at approximately 2:40 a.m., a 42-year-old man was shot on the 8100 block of South Princeton Avenue. He was shot in the buttocks and was also taken to U of C in fair condition.

No one is in custody for either shooting and Area 2 detectives are investigating both.
