Six persons, including a baby girl, were killed and eight others injured in a triple vehicle collision involving a jeep, a state transport bus and a motorcycle near Hingatiya village in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district on Saturday, police said. According to Inspector N.R. Umat of Kheroj police station, the accident occurred on a state highway when a jeep and a state transport bus collided head-on. Following the initial impact, a motorcycle carrying three persons rammed into the jeep.

“Six persons lost their lives, and most of them were in the jeep, which was badly mangled due to the impact,” Inspector Umat told news agency PTI, adding that the bus was travelling to Vadodara from Ambaji in Banaskantha district while the jeep was heading in the opposite direction.

The deceased included mostly men from the Sabarkantha district, the police official added. The injured are undergoing treatment at Himmatnagar Civil Hospital, the district headquarters.
