6 officers injured after squad cars collide overnight on Lower West Side

Six police officers were injured overnight after two squad cars collided on the Lower West Side, Chicago police said.

About 2:15 a.m. Friday, two marked police cars were headed north in the 1900 block of South Western Avenue when one of the vehicles struck the other. One of the squad cars was occupied by four officers, and the second was occupied by two officers.

Four officers were listed in good condition and the other two were listed in fair condition at local hospitals, police said.
