‘Danish Ali Betrayed BSP, People Of Amroha’: Mayawati Hits Out At Former Party MP

New Delhi: During separate election rallies in Amroha and Ghaziabad districts of western Uttar Pradesh, BSP Chief Mayawati accused Amroha MP and former BSP leader Danish Ali of betraying people of the constituency and the party. She also said that if electronic voting machines (EVMs) are not tampered with, it will be difficult for the ruling BJP to win the Lok Sabha polls this time.

Ali, who was expelled from the BSP earlier this year for alleged anti-party activities, joined the Congress and is now contesting from Amroha. He betrayed the people and the party, Mayawati said in Amroha, without taking any name, reported PTI.

Addressing the rally in Amroha in support of BSP candidate Mujahid Hussain, Mayawati said that while an individual from the Muslim community may have betrayed them, they did not hold the entire community accountable. Instead, they have nominated Mujahid Hussain as their candidate.

Criticising the Congress, Mayawati stressed the party’s loss of power in many parts of the country due to what she described as wrong policies and work culture. She also took aim at the BJP, condemning its casteist, capitalist, and communal policies, asserting that the party will face a tough battle in the parliamentary election due to its unfulfilled promises and shortcomings.

Mayawati Slams BJP In Rally

“The BJP will not sail through easily in the polls if EVMs are not tampered with”, she claimed.

Mayawati launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP, accusing the party of prioritising the interests of favored capitalists and politicising central probe agencies, mirroring tactics employed by the Congress. She accused the BJP-RSS government for neglecting the development of Muslims and other minorities, attributing their plight to the party’s governance.

She also alleged that atrocities are being committed under the guise of Hindutva. Despite previously partnering with the Samajwadi Party, the BSP has opted to contest the upcoming election independently.

Mayawati’s remarks come amidst the backdrop of Kanwar Singh Tanwar’s 2014 victory and subsequent defeat in 2019. In the Ghaziabad rally organised in support of BSP candidate Nand Kishore Pundir, Mayawati accused the BJP of neglecting the Kshatriya community.

Mayawati slammed the BJP and other parties for neglecting the Kshatriya community in Western Uttar Pradesh, despite its significant presence in the region. She highlighted the BSP’s commitment to providing proper representation to all communities, including the Kshatriya community, in ticket distribution.

Mayawati pointed out the BJP’s decision to replace Ghaziabad MP and Union Minister V K Singh, a member of the Kshatriya community, with former UP minister Atul Garg. She expressed gratitude to the Kshatriya community for their decision to support the party that provides maximum representation to their community in the Lok Sabha elections.

Additionally, Mayawati clarified that while BSP has fielded Nand Kishore Pundir from the Ghaziabad seat, it does not signify neglect towards the Sikh community.

Mayawati said that it was earlier decided to give a ticket to a person (Anshay Kalra) from the Punjabi community, but he was given the ticket from Lakhimpur Kheri on the basis of number of Sikh voters.

Referring to the Gurjar community, she said that Praveen Bainsla, who belongs to the community, has been given a ticket from Baghpat. Polling in Amroha and Ghaziabad will be held in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 26.
