Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Adhyayan Suman and his father Shekhar Suman and Raveena Tandon have spoken about the incident. Only two days after having won the Lok Sabha elections from Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranuat claimed to have been hit in the face and abused by a female CISF constable during the security check at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday.

Shabana Azmi reaction

Anupam Kher reaction

Anupam Kher who spoke to the paparazzi recently also said, “Mujhe bara afsos hua. Ek mahila k saath ek mahila k dwaara jo apne position ka fayeda uthakar is tarah ki harqat ki, bilkul ghalat hai. Iski kanooni karwaayi honi chahiye. Unka koi bhi rosh hai, main yeh nahi keh raha hoon k inka rosh nhi ho sakta jisne aesa kiya, but yeh apne audhe ka ya position ka fayeda uthakar nahi karna chahiye(I understand your sentiments and agree that it’s wrong for a woman to take advantage of her position of power to exploit another woman in this way. Such actions should be condemned and legal action should be taken. While it’s understandable that the victim may be feeling angry and upset, it’s important to remember that resorting to similar tactics is not the right way to address the situation.)

Bohut hi democratic ways hai (There are democratic ways) of saying that what you have said in the past which has affected. But to do something like this is very sad and unfortunate. Not only because now Kangana in an MP or actress, Kangana is a woman. I think any kind of violence towards anybody, forget about women, isn’t right. Kal ho koi bhi kisi ko bhi kisi bhi baat pe is tarah ki harkat kar sakta hai aur bahana bana sakta hai. Ghalat baat hai ( Anyone can do such a thing to anyone for any reason tomorrow and make excuses. It’s wrong.).” Kher added.

Shekhar Suman reaction

Meanwhile, Shekhar Suman and his son Adhyayn Suman, who were also present at an event, spoke about the same to the paps. Shekhar said, “Woh ghalat hai, woh toh bohut ghalat hai. Bohut hi durbhagyepurn hai. Aesa kisi k saath nahi hona chahiye(That’s wrong, that’s terribly wrong. It’s a tragedy. This should never happen to anyone).”

“No one has the right to do this. This is illegal what she has done. She should get punished for this. I understand that she might have some anger or protest in her mind but the way it was expressed was very wrong. It could also have been said in a decent manner…You can’t raise your hand on anyone like this.” Adhyayan Suman who was seen standing next to his father nodded his head.

Raveena Tandon reaction

Raveena Tandon also took to her Twitter handle to post about violence hooliganism in society. She also pointed out at ‘women achievers’ being targetted for their ‘fame’.

Tandon tweeted, “In a world where public scrutiny is relentless, it is essential to remember that women achievers are human too. Disparaging them solely for their fame is unfair and harmful. This increasing violence against women and children world over needs to be addressed urgently.”
