Illinois’ high school graduation rate has hit a 15-year high, as students continue to show academic growth post-pandemic, state officials announced today with the release of the 2025 Illinois Report Card. The annual Illinois State Board of Education report offers a comprehensive analysis of academic, demographic and financial data for every school and district in the state.

Immigration judge releases Chicago dad whose 16-year-old daughter is fighting cancer
Ruben Torres Maldonado is coming home to his wife, sick daughter and four-year old son. An immigration judge granted the 40-year-old Portage Park man detained by federal immigration agents bond this morning, nearly two weeks after he was arrested. Read more here.
