Apple Music New Feature: Set List To Let Artists Turn Their Concerts & Tours Into Dedicated Pla

On Thursday, Apple Music rolled out a new feature designed to help artists connect more closely with their fans by sharing playlists based on their recent concert performances. The feature, called “Set List,” enables musicians to create playlists that mirror the setlist of a single show, a residency, or even an entire tour.

These playlists can be shared on Apple Music, featured on Shazam’s Artist and Concert pages, and posted on social media platforms, serving as a promotional tool for artists.

Set List: Here’s What We Know

To use the Set List feature, artists start by uploading an image to act as the playlist’s cover art. They can then add tracks either by searching or pasting Apple Music links. There’s also an option to schedule a release date for the playlist, allowing musicians to strategically share their setlists with fans. Artists can even reorder the tracks to match the sequence of their live performance, offering fans a glimpse into the flow of their concerts.

The Set List feature is powered by Bandsintown, a popular platform that alerts users about upcoming concerts in their area. By linking their Apple Music profile with Bandsintown, artists can boost the visibility of their events and shows.

Music enthusiasts have increasingly shown interest in tools that allow them to build playlists in new ways, such as apps like LineupSupply and Instafest, which generate playlists based on concert posters. With the rise of AI-powered playlist-building tools, fans now have more options than ever to engage with music.

The new Set List tool builds upon Apple Music’s existing Set Lists section, which was introduced last year to help fans discover upcoming live performances.
