Artist Shares AI-Generated Pics Of Indian Freedom Fighters Taking Selfies

On the occasion of India’s 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023, social media was replete with patriotic posts by internet users who also remembered the revolutionaries who gave their lives for the freedom of our country. Amid all the celebrations, an Artificial Intelligence artist Divyansh Soni created a set of portraits depicting how it would look if freedom fighters had smartphones and clicked their selfies.

The set of pictures shared by Divyansh on Instagram featured freedom fighters Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Mangal Pandey.

”Found some rare unseen Pictures and Selfies of Indian Freedom Fighters. On the occasion of Independence Day, AI artist @divyansh.soni_ imagines how would it look if Indian Revolutionaries had gotten their pictures and selfies clicked. Let us know in the comments below how do you think they’d have celebrated the 77th Anniversary of Indian Independence had they been alive today?” read the caption of the post shared by the AI artist Divyansh.

The hyper-realistic artwork received mixed reactions from Instagram users.


”If freedom fighters were Gen Z. They had to post selfies to remain valid on social media,” commented one user on the post.

“Not matched with Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat singh ji,” wrote another user on the post.

“Mangal Pandey played by Oscar Issac,’ commented a third.

While a fourth wrote, Don’t Promote A.I. and A.I. artists (actually called Prompters) because A.I. Art in Unethical !!
