Atul Subhash Suicide: The suicide of Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old general manager at a private firm in Bengaluru, has started a discussion on social media about men facing harassment in marriages. Subhash in a 24-page note mentioned how he was forced to take the extreme step because her estranged wife Nikita Singhania was allegedly demanding maintenance of Rs 2 to 4 lakh and using their son, aged around four, in a family court.

Now, one of his friends, Jackson, has revealed how things went south for the couple during COVID pandemic. Jackson said there were around nine cases filed against the techie by his wife and he was under tremendous stress. “There were like nine cases put by his wife and because of that he was going through tremendous stress. But in this particular video and notes that he has made, it doesn’t seem that he was depressed,” he told news agency ANI.

“It seems that he did it out of a sense of harassment that he was facing from the system. So it was more like his way of telling the system that it is not helping men and there is a lot of bias,” Jackson added.

What Happened During COVID?

Jackson revealed that Subhash’s wife had a lot of issues when she was infected with COVID-19, so he went ahead to get her medicines. “She wasn’t taking them on time which created some friction that escalated into multiple issues and then she left him along with the baby and he could not see his son,” he said.

“One particular point that I got to know recently from him was that he got a maintenance order of Rs 40,000 for his son who is barely four or five years old,” the friend said.

Subhash Sent Email To Younger Brother At 1 AM

The victim’s brother Bikas said cases were also filed against him and his father. “My brother was harassed by the system. The system includes law, marriage, and the benefits that are given to girls, which are misused,” he said.

Subhash sent an email to his younger brother around 1 am before taking the extreme step. The victim’s wife used to frame one charge after another, as per his father Pawan Kumar. “He (victim) had said to us that those in the mediation court do not work as per law, not even as per the rules of the Supreme Court. He had to go to Jaunpur from Bengaluru at least 40 times,” the father said.

“He must have been frustrated but never let us feel that. Suddenly, we received the information about the incident – he sent a mail to our younger son around 1 am. It’s 100% true (the allegations of the deceased against his wife and her family)…We cannot express the level of stress that our son had,” Kumar added.
