An individual in Bengaluru took to social media to talk about the hazards of walking in the city which is famously hailed as the Silicon Valley of India. Sharing videos on social media, Yogeesh Prabhuswamy, said that walking in the city has now become an extreme sport.
The user shared videos of footpaths in the city on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and said, “Walking in Bengaluru is an extreme sports. Need the skill to balance on tiny concrete strip and to jump from footpath to road! No, I didn’t dare take this bus! Just one slip and a lifetime injury – that’s how pedestrians are treated in the so-called “Infra Era”!”
In the video, he pointed out how boarding a bus can be extremely dangerous for the public in Bengaluru as individuals have to jump on broken footpaths and navigate the debris lying on the pavement and the roads.

One of the videos also showed bus commuters standing on top of the rainwater sponge structures dangerously waiting to board the bus. While the user was supposed to take the bus, he opted to stay out of it as he didn’t want to endure an injury while rushing over the pavement.
This began a whole conversation on social media with Netizens pointing out the sad conditions of public pathways and roads in the city. One of the users sarcastically commented, “To be honest this is a better footpath Ofcourse contractor has eaten lot of money with poor work. There are some where it’s broken or cut or have deeper hellholes or garbage strewn or blocked or parked. In some places they don’t exist and pedestrians just hope they don’t trip!”
