Maha Kumbh 2025 Chai Wale Baba: ‘Chaiwale Baba‘, who has come to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj’s Sangam, has become a hot topic of discussion. The tea-sipping sage (hence the name) is believed to have not consumed even a morsel of solid food or a glass water for the past 41 years and has been living only on tea. Ever since he started his ‘tea-only’ diet, he has maintained maun pratigya, or vow of silence.
In 41 years, he has not spoken a single word. ‘Chaiwale Baba’ is famous not just for his diet, but also for teaching aspiring candidates preparing for competitive exams like a teacher. He prepares notes for them. Many of the competitive students guided by him have now become government officials.
But if Baba has been silent for 41 years, how does he teach the candidates and prepare them for the civil services? And ost importantly why did he decide to live a life of silence and tea?
Who Is Chaiwale Baba?
‘Chaiwale Baba’ has arrived at the Maha Kumbh from Chitrakoot Dham in Uttar Pradesh. His real name is name is Dinesh Swaroop Brahmachari. The baba’s secret of maintaining a vow of silence for 41 years and living only on tea is believed to be Hatha Yoga. However, he does not share much about his resolution.
Even though the baba has been observing a vow of silence for the past four decades, he answers each and every question of the people. The baba’s way of answering is unique. The maun (silent) sage answers everything in writing. He writes with his left hand and he writes with superhuman speed; it’s as if he’s speaking.
When ABP News wanted to know his opinion on all the questions, he answered every question in writing. The baba writes on a copy or any paper as fast as he types on his mobile.
Chaiwale Baba An Expert In English And Maths
Before taking sanyas (renunciation in asceticism), Dinesh Swaroop Brahmachari was a teacher. He is an expert in subjects like English and Maths. He also prepares students preparing for competitive exams. He prepares his notes by hand. He sends his files to the students on mobile or sends photocopies of the notes.
Most of the candidates who learned from him became cleared their exams. He types and sends solutions to the doubts of the competitive students on his mobile phone. About a dozen competitive students are with him even at the Maha Kumbh and taking success mantras from him.
Why Does Chaiwale Baba Follow A Tea-Only Diet?
According to ‘Chaiwale Baba’, he drinks milk tea as all nutrients required for sustenance are present in milk. Millions of sages and sages have come to the Maha Kumbh for the royal bath (Shahi Snan), but Dinesh Swaroop Brahmachari is not very excited about it.
He says that he takes a dip in the ‘Ganga of knowledge’ every day. “Every day is a royal bath for me,” he said.
Because of his unique diet, people call him ‘Chaiwale Baba’. Dinesh Swaroop Brahmachari’s guru Swami Brahma Swaroop Brahmachari says that his disciple is living this kind of life due to Hatha Yoga. The guru says that Dinesh Swaroop Brahmachari has become a topic of discussion among the devotees coming to the Maha Kumbh because of his special qualities.
