Charges are forthcoming for three people involved in a giant fight at a Hobart trampoline park Wednesday evening, police said.

Hobart Police were sent around 7:26 p.m. July 23 to Urban Air, 3249 East 81st Ave., for the melee, according to a release the department put on its social media page. They arrived to find at least 20 people “actively fighting,” the release said.

Officers arrested a 37-year-old Chicago man; a 39-year-old Homewood, Illinois, woman; and a 36-year-old Homewood man, according to the release. A woman from Chicago was released from custody but will be charged at a later date. At least two juveniles – including an employee – were injured in the fight.

“The Hobart Police Department does not condone violence and mayhem as seen (Wednesday) and our officers and detectives are continuing to investigate the fight,” the release said. “We anticipate additional charges to be presented to the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office.

“This was an isolated incident at our Urban Air location in Hobart which has operated for nearly two years without any other problems this serious. Our US 30 shopping corridor remains a safe place for families to come and spend time.”

Merrillville, Lake County and Winfield Police assisted Hobart.

Anyone with video of the fight is asked to send it to Cpl. Michael Gallagher at mgallager@cityofhobart.org.
