Child one of 2 killed in Joliet, police say

Joliet police are investigating the deaths of a child and an adult as homicides, authorities said Sunday. A person of interest was in custody as of late morning.

Officers and detectives responded to the 700 block of Garnsey Avenue on the east side of the city Sunday morning.

No additional information was immediately available. Police said the investigation is active and evolving, and new details would be released as they become available.
