Clarendon Hills will be looking for a resident to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Village Board member Denice Kavuliak, who is stepping down about eight months after being appointed to fill an opening created by another resignation.
Kavuliak was appointed in February to fill the term vacated by former board member Steve Tuttle, who resigned in December 2024.
In a letter to village President Eric Tech and village Clerk Lynn Dragisic, Kavuliak stated that because her personal circumstances have changed, she no longer would be able to devote the time and attention she believes is needed as a Village Board member.
“Please know that the reasons for my resignation are purely personal and have no connection to anything related to my role as village trustee,” Kavuliak stated in her letter. “If my circumstances were different, I would not be resigning my position.”
Tech will begin the process to appoint a replacement to serve the remainder of Kavuliak’s term, which ends in the spring of 2027.
“Although Trustee Kavuliak’s time on the board was brief, her impact was significant,” Tech said in a statement from the village. “She approached her responsibilities with professionalism and care, demonstrating responsiveness, thoughtfulness and a willingness to lead on key initiatives. We are grateful for her service and commitment to the village.”
