SAN FELICE DEL BENACO, ITALY — October 17, 2025. A business delegation from Gwinnett County, Georgia, met with Italian counterparts in San Felice del Benaco for an agenda focused on scientific dialogue, institutional introductions, and cultural orientation.

The stop was hosted by MAGI Group, known for work in human genetics and molecular diagnostics, and MAGISNAT, its American affiliate at Atlanta Tech Park in Peachtree Corners. Founder Dr. Matteo Bertelli welcomed the visitors for laboratory walk-throughs and briefings on research themes including personalized approaches to wellness and data-informed prevention.

Nick Masino, president and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, led the U.S. group, which included representatives from healthcare, technology, finance, and advanced manufacturing. The delegation’s conversations with Italian researchers emphasized transparency in science communication, responsible innovation, and the importance of connecting labs with communities.

San Felice Mayor Marzia Manovali greeted the visitors and noted the town’s long-standing commitment to cultural preservation and environmentally minded growth. The program closed at the Rocca di Manerba del Garda, where Dr. Simone Don, Councilor Raffaella Bertini, and Dr. Carla Ghidinelli provided historical context and a panoramic view of the region’s landscape.

Event organizers characterized the visit as an opportunity for mutual learning. No agreements or commitments were announced. Participants described the exchange as a constructive step in building professional relationships across borders through science, culture, and hospitality.
