Delhi-NCR News: Air quality continues to deteriorate in Delhi-NCR with the national capital on Tuesday recording a further dip in the overall air quality index (AQI), which stands at 327. The index stood at 322 on Monday, 309 on Sunday and 304 on Saturday. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) shows severe levels of air pollution at various places in the city crossing the town’s average. Anand Vihar monitoring centre recorded an AQI of 387 as of 8 am, while the index stood at 382 in Bawana.

AQI in Dwarka is no better with a ‘Very Poor’ AQI of 349 and the same is the case at ITO where the AQI is 333. Lodhi Road observatory recorded an AQI at 301.

Speaking on the dangerous levels of air pollution, an NRI resident Om Prakash told ANI that the situation was frightening. “…We live in Australia and have come here for a few months. We get frightened by the level of pollution… The Delhi government keeps on saying that we will reduce pollution, but they have not given attention to it…” he said.

Another Delhi resident blamed the pollution on CM Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government and said, “This is happening due to the Arvind Kejriwal government… He used to say earlier that if my government is there, pollution will not happen… But it has increased as compared to earlier… The public is suffering because of this…”
