Delhi CM Atishi To Face Floor Test In Upcoming Assembly Session

Atishi, who held the most portfolios, in the Kejriwal government was elevated to the post of Chief Minister after Arvind Kejriwal announced to step down from the post last week. Kejriwal had put forward her name which was unanimously agreed by the party.

After taking oath to office, Atishi has become the third woman to be Delhi’s Chief Minister after the late Sheila Dikshit and late Sushma Swaraj. She is also the youngest CM of the national capital.  Now she will need to pass a floor test in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The Assembly session has been scheduled for 26-27 September, where she will be expected to secure the trust of the House.

Atishi was elected as MLA from the Kalkaji constituency and had been entrusted with 13 departments, the highest number of portfolios held by any minister in the Delhi government. Earlier, she had served as an advisor to the then Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia between 2015 and 2018.
