The Delhi Traffic Police has launched a special drive for the commuters in the national capital with pending traffic violations to settle their fines. The Traffic Police, in collaboration with the the Delhi District Courts, will launch Special Evening Court Sessions to resolve long-standing traffic challans.
With the initiative, the Delhi Traffic Police plans to dispose over two crore traffic challans built up in the district courts. The special courts for settling pending challans will begin from Thursday (December 20) on all working days from 5 pm to 7 pm, the police said.
The court will run on weekdays and will be held at various district courts across Delhi, including Dwarka, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Rouse Avenue, Saket, and Tis Hazari, clearing around 2,200 challans per day.
In a post on X, the Delhi Traffic Police stated, “Special Evening Courts for settling pending Traffic Challans to be held from 20th December, 2024 in District Courts of Delhi on all working days of Courts from 5 pm to 7 pm. The link for downloading challan prints will open from 16th December, 2024. Avail this opportunity to get cleared pending challans.”

The sessions will be a convenient option for the commuters who missed the Lok Adalat event on December 14.
Steps For Booking Appointment For Evening Court
The appointment could be booked through the following steps:
- The applicants can go to the Evening Court Portal at https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/evecourtddc
- Enter the vehicle number and fill the Captcha.
- In order to proceed with printing pending challans and notices, click the ‘Search’ button.
After clicking on the ‘search’ button, the portal will retrieve virtual court challans and notices pending up to December 31, 2021.
In order to access the Evening Court portal, it is mandatory that the mobile number of the applicant is registered against the vehicle at the Transport Office.
The registered users can download the challans and notices from the Evening Court portal after entering the One Time Password (OTP).
After the OTP verification, the applicant will be redirected to select the date of the evening court, court complex, court, and time slot for the appointment.
- A total of five pending notices or challans will be displayed for disposal along with the available slots in different courts will be displayed on the screen.
- The user will then have to select the date of disposal from the available dates.
- Click on court complex or select court complex from the list. Then select the court from the available list.
- The applicant will then be given a time slot. Finally, check the undertaking “I will not contest the challan on virtual court portal i.e. vcourts.gov.in” and press “Submit” button.
- After submission “Print” button will appear on the screen and press the “Print” button to print pending challans and notices.
If a user fails to appear in the evening court on the scheduled date, they can book a fresh appointment to re-download pending notices and challans, which will be available three days after the missed evening court date.
