Stokes set a new record for the fastest half-century in England’s Test cricket history. With this achievement, he became the fourth fastest player in the world to score a fifty. The overall record for the fastest Test half-century is held by former Pakistan batsman Misbah-ul-Haq, who reached fifty in just 21 balls against Australia in Abu Dhabi in 2014.

Stokes surpassed this by reaching fifty in 24 balls. For England, Jonny Bairstow scored a fifty in 30 balls, and Ben Duckett achieved the feat in 32 balls.
