As per the report of India Express, the police confirmed that the accused was identified as Hossain Ali, a resident of Kailashahar in the Unakoti district of Tripura.

Ali told police he received a message on Instagram offering a central government position. “They (members of the online group) messaged me on Instagram about providing a central government job. I thought  it’s a central government job and I could earn a good amount of money. They gave me a link to fill the application form. Later, they informed me that I had been selected. They even sent me a uniform, a diary, and even an ID card,” he said to the police.

Ali further told the police that he was asked to collect Rs 150 and Rs 200 as fines from long-distance ticket-less passengers travelling on trains.
