Former Chicago Blackhawks left wing Brandon Bollig and his wife, Dannah, on April 3 sold their three-bedroom, 2,300-square-foot condominium in River North for $1.05 million.

A member of the Blackhawks’ 2013 Stanley Cup-winning team, Bollig, 36, skated for parts of three seasons for the Blackhawks and then was with the Calgary Flames before retiring in 2018. He now is a commercial real estate broker.

In River North, Bollig paid $810,000 in 2014 for the unit, which is in the Sexton building. After buying the unit, he only occupied it briefly before being traded to Calgary several weeks later. However, after retiring, he and his wife made the condo their full-time home, he previously told Elite Street. Now, they’ve sold it and are remaining in the Chicago area but have moved closer to family.

After buying the loft unit, Bollig and his wife renovated the entire condo, including refinishing the hardwood floors, redoing both bathrooms top to bottom, installing new countertops and redoing the kitchen. The unit now has a “vintage modern vibe,” he previously said.

The unit has exposed brick, exposed pipes, concrete columns, 11.5-foot ceilings, a living room with built-in shelving and a fireplace, a dining room with a designer light fixture, a south-facing balcony, a second bedroom with barn doors and a primary bedroom suite with a fully organized walk-in closet and a new spa-like bathroom with a free-standing soaking tub, a separate shower and a double vanity. The unit’s kitchen has a large center island, white quartz countertops, new tile flooring, substantial cabinet space and Viking appliances such as a stovetop and flatiron combo and a wine refrigerator.

The couple first listed the condo in late October for $1.13 million. They reduced their asking price to $1.09 million the following month and then to $1.08 million in January.

“He got a great price (and) is very happy,” listing agent Carrie McCormick of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate told Elite Street. “Buyers (today) are looking for turnkey (units) and Brandon did a great job with upgrading and updating the unit.”

The condo had a $16,423 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year.
