December is the time when Goa transforms into a winter wonderland of festivities that brings back the old Portuguese traditions and Indian customs, putting everything aside to create the most magical Christmas experience.

Se Cathedral Officially named the Church of St. Catherine, it is the gigantic cathedral in Old Goa. It ranks as one of the largest churches in Asia and has beautiful architecture. Visiting this cathedral during Christmas in Goa in India can make a person be a part of the spiritual ceremonies and view the intricate decorations that fill the space.

This place is the shrine of Old Goa as it is one of the numerous World heritage sites of UNESCO. It is famous for the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. It is a beautiful church, which is decorated with lights during Christmas and observes a magnificent Midnight Mass crowded with visitors from all corners of the world. Historic, spiritual aura makes it a must-visit for the celebration of Goa’s festive spirit.

Anjuna Beach is located in North Goa and is one of the most popular beaches for amazing nightlife and its weekly flea fare. Christmas here burns to life with spelling parties, live music, and spectacular fireworks. It is the bustle and clamour of this paradise, which is testimony to the whole Goan experience of both the relaxation and the celebration.

The small Portuguese-style neighborhood of Fontainhas in Panjim undergoes transformation from the heart of the city into a place of magic using divinity. Twinkling lights and colourful decorations in narrow lanes give a feel of a European village. Many local bakeries offer traditional Goan Christmas sweets like bebinca and dodol to help make the holiday season tastefully meaningful.

Calangute, North Goa’s great ‘Queen of Beaches,’ draws innumerable families as well as individual sightseers during Christmas. The atmosphere is perfectly energised to create the best holiday memories.
