The Gary Community School Corp. is hosting several programs beginning Monday to mark Parent Engagement Week.

School officials described it as a week of family engagement events designed to strengthen connections, build trust, and ensure every student feels safe and supported.

Families will have opportunities to share their voices, learn valuable tools, and partner with educators and community leaders.

There is a virtual event Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. on the “Family-School Partnership.” The video call link is: https://meet.google.com/scg-ypny-yay or call 1-316-512-3009: PIN: 304 230 944#

Tuesday sessions focus on feedback on student behavior. They’re from noon to 1 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m. at the West Side Leadership Academy, 900 Gerry St.

Wednesday is designated as “Coffee with a Cop,” from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. outside the West Side Leadership Academy box office.

On Thursday, there are two sessions on Skyward, the district’s student information system. Parents will learn how to quickly find grades, attendance, and required courses for high school.

Both sessions are at Williams Elementary, 1320 E. 19th Ave. The first session is from 11 a.m. to noon and the second session is from 2 to 3 p.m.

On Friday, there’s a town hall meeting centered on safety.

The roundtable focuses on campus safety and security measures, fights, bullying and conflict resolution. Other topics include mental health and stress support, communication and trust between school and families.

It will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at West Side. Participants should enter at Door V.
