Google One Lite ‘Affordable’ Subscription Plan Rolling Out In India

Google One, a premium subscription service that provides additional storage for Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos, has begun rolling out a new Lite plan, offering users an affordable way to increase their storage capacity, for users in India. A Google One subscription essentially provides additional Cloud storage that can be utilised across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos. While all users receive 15GB of free storage, Google One lets users upgrade with plans offering 100GB, 200GB, and up to 2TB of space, at different subscription costs.

Now, Google has introduced the Google One Lite Plan in India, which provides 30GB of storage at a reduced cost. The Google One Lite plan is gradually rolling out, and while only some users have access right now, Google is offering a one-month free trial, similar to other Google One options. Below are the key pricing details and features of this new plan, aimed at offering an affordable option for budget-conscious users in India.

The Google One Lite plan boosts the standard 15GB of free storage to 30GB but comes with certain restrictions. Unlike the higher-tier Google One plans, the Lite option does not allow for shared storage with additional users and lacks several advanced features. The AI-powered tools available in Google’s premium plans, such as Gemini and the Magic Editor in Google Photos, are also absent from the Google One Lite plan. For those seeking more comprehensive features, the Google One Premium plan offers 2TB of storage and advanced AI capabilities for Rs 1,950 per month.

Pricing For Google One Lite  

Priced at Rs 59 per month, the Google One Lite plan provides 30GB of storage at roughly half the cost of the 100GB plan, which is available for Rs 118 per month. Additionally, an annual subscription is available for Rs 589 per year. Some users have reported seeing introductory offers that reduce the first month’s fee to as little as Rs 15 for the first two months, according to several reports. This makes the Lite plan an even more appealing option for budget-conscious users.
