GTA 6: As 2025 begins, Grand Theft Auto enthusiasts have plenty to celebrate. Rockstar Games, the legendary studio behind the multi-billion-dollar franchise, has officially confirmed that GTA 6 will transport players back to the iconic streets of Vice City. In 2023, the studio unveiled a teaser trailer that offered fans a glimpse of what to expect from this much-anticipated installment.

If you’re excited to learn more about the latest addition to the Grand Theft Auto series, from its release date to supported platforms, here’s everything we currently know about GTA 6.

GTA 6: When Will It Be Launched?

After years of speculation and eager anticipation, fans have long awaited an official release date for GTA 6.

While Rockstar Games has yet to confirm an exact date, the game is expected to launch sometime in the fall of 2025.

GTA 6: Which Platform Will It Be Released On?

Rockstar Games has historically released Grand Theft Auto titles on consoles first, with the PC version following a few years later. Based on a press release from Take-Two Interactive, GTA 6 will initially launch exclusively for the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5 Pro.

Regarding the PC release, a Rockstar developer suggested that GTA 6 might not arrive on the platform until 2027. This delay could be due to the game’s demanding hardware requirements, potentially needing a high-performance GPU and CPU combination to achieve 60fps at maximum settings.

GTA 6: Gameplay & Map

Based on the trailer released by Rockstar Games last year, GTA 6 will bring players back to Vice City, a fictional representation of Miami. Unlike the 1986 setting of GTA: Vice City, this installment will take place in the modern era. Rockstar describes the game’s setting, the state of Leonida, as being home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond, promising the biggest and most immersive evolution of Grand Theft Auto yet.

This suggests that players might explore areas beyond Vice City, potentially including parts of Florida’s Everglades. While familiar landmarks such as Starfish Island make a return, iconic locations like the Ocean View Hotel and Malinu Club are notably absent from the trailer. The teaser also introduces two new protagonists. Although the female lead, Lucia, is shown in action, details about her male counterpart remain scarce. From the trailer, the pair seems to share a Bonnie and Clyde-style dynamic, committing crimes together throughout the storyline.

A Bloomberg report hinted that Rockstar plans to expand the game post-launch, adding new cities and interior locations over time. However, as this information hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s wise to approach it cautiously.
